Memorial Day Weekend

It rained, and then it stopped for like 5 minutes and then it rained and then after it got done raining, it rained again. That is about the sum of our weekend. We did, however, try to make the best out of it. Michael and I went on a mission Saturday morning while the kids stayed with Nana for about an hour or two. It was a secret mission the kids couldn't know about. But, after we completed the mission I just couldn't resist in telling them. I am not good keeping secrets...especially fun ones. We bought a pool. It is a 24' above ground pool for the kiddos. We have been wanting to get one and we talked about it and talked about it and finally we just decided to do it. We had the money and the kids would enjoy it for years and years, so it was worth it. Now all we have to do is pray for it to stop raining so that it can be installed and we can get a deck built around it. That is the part I am looking forward to. A deck to lay out on! It's a win win situation for every one involved!

Saturday night since the kids had been so good we decided to have a spend the night party. Levi (age 9), Luke (age 8) and Graci (age 6) came to spend the night with us. Our kids love them and they always have such a great time. Did I mention it rained alot??? Well that didn't stop them. Since it was warm out, I wasn't worried about them getting sick playing in the rain for a while. They had a blast. I went to bed at 11:30 and Michael came to bed after they had all finally passed out at about 2 a.m.

Sunday we just hung around the house and washed our cars in between the down pours of rain. Monday for Memorial Day we went to CiCi's Pizza (Jake's choice) and bowling. It was a lot of fun. Jake beat Michael second game and won $10 off of him! I was impressed! That evening we played woofle ball in the front yard(spelling???) and grilled out for dinner at home.

Even though it rained ALL weekend, we still managed to have a great time together. I just hope the rain stops so we can enjoy the pool and the summer!

  1. What a great surprise, I have been trying to talk my husband into getting a pool for a couple of years now but he keeps saying no. I hope the rain stops for you soon so you can get it all set up.
