Of Course They Are Scissors!

There are times when kids draw something and you just have to say...
'Wow, tell me about your picture,' because you have no clue what it is...
This one you'll know right away....Enjoy!

OF COURSE THEY'RE SCISSORS

QUOTE FROM THE MOM:

THIS IS MY KINDERGARTNER'S ARTISTIC RENDERING OF A PAIR OF SCISSORS.
I WONDER WHAT HIS TEACHER THOUGHT.

I ALLOWED MYSELF JUST A SMALL SMIRK WHEN I SAW IT.

I WAITED UNTIL HE WAS OUT OF THE ROOM UNTIL I
STARTED CRYING FROM LAUGHING SO HARD.

WELL, OF COURSE THEY'RE SCISSORS.

IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITH A SMALL CHILD OR
IF YOU ARE A TEACHER YOU WILL LOVE THIS!

AS YOU ALL KNOW I WILL BE REQUIRED
TO PROUDLY DISPLAY THIS ON MY
REFRIGERATOR FOR A LENGTH OF TIME .

Note - This was not done by either of my children. This was a funny email a friend had sent to me.

It's That Time

It is soccer season again! I am so excited. Possibly even more so than Jake (nah!)! I LOVE soccer. He generally plays at the park near where we live which is convenient, however, they do not have a Spring League at this park so we have enrolled him in the Alabama Youth League in a nearby town. They travel in this league so it is going to be a little different. Not to mention the difference in temperature. Fall league usually is so hot the first 10 games you fry like bacon and the last couple are either mild or frigid (gotta love that Alabama weather). This time around it is going to be cold to start off with. Like tonight for example. Tonight is the first practice and it is going to be COLD. They couldn't have started last week when it was in the high 60's! :) That is ok. I dont think he even notices the temperature when is out there. I went on my lunch break today and got him some new kicks so we are all set! I cant wait for them to start. Hopefully this season will be as good as his last when they won the Championship!

A Busy Weekend...

We have a very busy weekend ahead of us. Tonight we will pick up Miss Mary Katherine and then go grab a bite to eat. Probably at Pasquales. It is one of the kids fave's...and ours too! (So much for that diet this weekend) Then we are going home where the kids will be "camping out" with my mom in the new camper. That is right...they will sleeping in the camper...in the driveway! At least they wont be far from home if they decide to come back!

Saturday is the busiest day. Saturday morning the kids will get their V-Day presents from Michael and I and from Nanna and Papa (my parents). One of their surprises are HUGE kites. And when I say HUGE....the boxes reached from the third row of my Jeep Commander to the end of the second row seats. They are some huge kites. Thank You Sams! :) We will probably go to the park and fly those around for a while. Then we are going to take "our dates" (the kids) to Outback for dinner. Jake and Mary are obsessed with their ribs. Then we are off to Froggy's. Froggy's is a local establishment where they have these huge rooms with all of the blow up slides, obstacle courses and boxing rings that your heart desires...Plus video games and prizes. Slides, Games, Prizes...Oh My! This is going to be the best V-Day ever! Not only do I get to spend the whole day with my awesome husband, but I also get to have a date with the best two kids around!

Then Sunday....is a relax day. It will look something like this...

Hump Day Humor

I almost forgot about my Hump Day Humor Post.....here ya go! (Lisa....you have already seen this one!)

The Best Smart Ass Answers of 2008!!

SMART ASS ANSWER #6

It was mealtime during an airline flight. 'Would you like dinner?' the flight attendant asked John, seated in front. 'What are my choices?'John asked. 'Yes or no,' she replied.

SMART ASS ANSWER #5

A flight attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check tickets. As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he opened his trench coat and flashed her. Without missing a beat, she said, 'Sir,I need to see your ticket, not your stub.'

SMART ASS ANSWER #4

A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store but she couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy, ' Do these turkeys get any bigger?' The stock boy replied, 'No ma'am, they're dead.'

SMART ASS ANSWER #3

The police officer got out of his car as the kid who was stopped for speeding rolled down his window. 'I've been waiting for you all day,' the officer said. The kid replied, Yeah, well I got here as fast as I could.' When the cop finally stopped laughing, he sent the kid on his way without a ticket.

SMART ASS ANSWER #2

A truck driver was driving along on the freeway and noticed a sign that read: Low Bridge Ahead. Before he knows it, the bridge is right in front of him and his truck gets wedged under it. Cars are backed up for miles. Finally a police car comes up. The cop gets out of his car and walks to the truck driver, puts his hands on his hips and says, 'Got stuck, huh?'The truck driver says, 'No, I was delivering this bridge and I ran out of gas.'

SMART ASS ANSWER OF THE YEAR 2008!!

A college teacher reminds her class of tomorrow's final exam. 'Now class, I won't tolerate any excuses for you not being here tomorrow. I might consider a nuclear attack or a serious personal injury, illness, or a death in your immediate family, but that's it, no other excuses whatsoever!' A smart-ass student in the back of the room raised his hand and asked,'What would you say if tomorrow I said I was suffering from complete and utter sexual exhaustion?' The entire class is reduced to laughter and snickering When silence was restored, the teacher smiled knowingly at the student, shook her head and sweetly said, 'Well, I guess you'd have to write the exam with your other hand.'

A BONUS EXTRA

A woman is standing nude looking in the bedroom mirror. She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband, 'I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.' The husband replies, 'Your eyesight's damn near perfect!"

Sips N Strokes

There is a place here in Birmingham (and one in Atlanta) called Sips and Strokes. It is where you go and have a instructor teach you step by step how to create a painting. Every night is a different painting and you can look at there website and choose which night you want to go by which painting they are doing that night. You are allowed to bring your beverage of choice (alcoholic or non) and Sip while you Stroke. I have heard so many great things about this and have wanted to go for a while now. I had emailed the girls about a week ago to try and get a date planned for a girls night out so we could go. Well, as luck would have it they are having a fundraiser at a High School right down the road from us in March! Yay!!! This is perfect! I have gotten everyone signed up and I am SO excited about it. We are going to go and try our hand at painting and have a blast! They supply all the paint and canvas' so all you have to do is show up. I hope that it is as great as what I have heard. There are several paintings on their website that I would love to try. The one we will be doing at the fundraiser is Landscape. Here are a few pictures from there website of different paintings:

A Relaxing Weekend

Michael and I had a very relaxing weekend. We really didnt do much of anything. Friday night we caught up on some of our favorite shows we had recorded on DVR. We are what you would call reality tv junkies! Saturday morning Michael had to get up and do some yard work so I took the opportunity to go shopping with my Mom. We had only planned on being gone for a couple of hours, but ended up coming home 6 hours later. We had a great time. Saturday night Michael and I went out to eat and came back home and watched a movie. Sunday it was gorgeous outside, so we decided to have a picnic and hang out by my parents pond for a while. Michael fished for a while and then we headed home to clean. That was our weekend. We didnt do anything spectacular, but it was a great weekend. Now we are trying to get our work week mentality going.

Easy To Make Bows...

Just an FYI for all you Mothers of Little Girls out there!!!!
I found a site online where you can purchase a kit to make hair bows for little girls. They are reasonalby priced, ADORABLE, and the absolute best part is that you can mix and match pieces from each kit to make different bows. They are not permanent once you make them. You can take them apart and redo them all sorts of different ways. These are the best things EVER! Michelle Garrett is definitly a smart woman for coming up with something so affordable and versatile. The link to her You Tube video for making the bows is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gy8WQAvCmk.

Here is a picture of what you end up with. And like I said before you can mix and match all the different pieces to make a variety of different styles and colors.

You can find these on Ebay. Here is also a link to her Ebay Shop http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/Easy-Make-Bows__W0QQ_armrsZ1.

I plan on ordering serveral kits for Mary Katherine. I am sure they will all be wonderful. Oh and I almost forgot...they are so easy to make that your little girls can help you make them. Just an added bonus!!!

I Am Not A Girl Scout...But I Have Had Their Cookies

For any of you who know me, you know that I am NOT the type that you would find outside in a tent with bugs and critters and God knows what else. While I am certainly not the girly, frilly lace, high maintenace type either, I still prefer hot showers and not smelling like I have been roasted in Off! However, the Fam and I will soon be enjoying "nature" a lot more. Mother and Daddy just bought a new camper. Now the ones that I remember were from back in the 80's. You know where the kitchen table also doubled as a bed (mmm...comfy) and you had to pull your pants up and down OUTSIDE of the bathroom because there was hardly enough room to turn around much less dress yourself. Well this is not the case anymore. I was amazed at how far these things have come. The one that my parents got is a fifth wheel. (They also got a REALLY nice snazzy new truck that I am dying to drive to go along with it!) This thing is fully loaded. I am talking flat screen TV, DVD, a Fireplace, Lazy Boy Recliners, oak kitchen table and chairs, King size bed, shower outside to rinse off if you are at the beach, etc. It is Nice!!! And Michael, the kids and I are all so excited to take the first trip!!! I believe the kids are really going to enjoy it. Jake wanted to sleep in it the first night they brought it home...he was so excited. It is going to be a lot of fun and I will keep you all posted on our camping trips!!!

Hump Day Humor

A Little Humor For Your Hump Day...

Three women: one engaged, one married and one a mistress, are chatting about
their relationships and decided to amaze their men. That night all three
will wear black leather bras, stiletto heels and a mask over their eyes.

After a few days they meet up for lunch.

The engaged woman: The other night when my boyfriend came over he found me
with a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask. He saw me and said,
"You are the woman of my life. I love you." Then we made love all night
long.

The mistress: Me too! The other night I met my lover at his office and I was
wearing the leather bodice, heels, mask over my eyes and a raincoat.
When I
opened the raincoat he didn't say a word, but we had wild sex all night.

The married woman: I sent the kids to stay at my mother's house for the
night when my husband came home I was wearing the leather bodice, black
stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes. As soon as he came in the door
and saw me he said,

"What's for dinner, Batman?"

The Calm Before the Storm

The last few days have been quite calm. And taking into account the week that I had last week, this is actually a nice change of pace. Last week started out with having some family drama (part of the "dysfunctional" in my "happily dysfunctional" life), to losing a very special family member to cancer. It was a bad week!!! But, the past few days have been eerily drama free. This past weekend Jake went to his Daddy's house and Mary was at her Mothers home. So, Michael and I had some down time to relax. We had to be at the funeral home for the viewing of my Uncle on Friday night. And Saturday was the funeral. After the funeral we went to buy groceries and then went home to clean. We had our good friends Erica and Chad over for dinner and to play cards that night. Michael and I love to play Phase 10. If you haven't played it before you need to get it. It is a lot of fun. And Michael put a new twist on the game that made it even more interesting. Sunday my Mom and I went shopping. We went to Old Time Pottery in Pelham. I LOVE this store. I got a lot of cute things for the house. Including a bird house on a stand that fits perfect in the corner by the french doors that is an odd size and I couldn't find anything to put there....but, this fits and looks perfect.

So, that has been our life the past few days. Nothing really interesting...but I will take that any day over the drama that has been my life the past few weeks!
